OUR KITCHEN

Our Kitchen Manager, Mrs McFadyen heads up a team of 6 catering staff. They provide a choice of two hot meals (one meat, one vegetarian) a jacket potato meal which includes our salad bar and a packed lunch alternative called a "Grab & Go" on a daily basis.

HEALTHY LUNCH BOXES

Our food policy promotes healthy food choices for all children.  As a part of our curriculum, we encourage children to think about what they eat during the whole day.  For those children who bring a packed lunch to school, we encourage them to make healthy choices.  

COOKING CLUB

During the year our kitchen runs an after school cooking club. Children have the opportunity to make some of Mrs McFadyen's favourite recipes and also learn a range of skills they can use at home.  To support this all our children have opportunities to cook during the school year.

VEGETABLE GARDEN

Our vegetable garden is fully stocked and provides the kitchen with fresh produce throughout the year.  All the children get a chance to go out and learn skills from our Haydonleigh Harvesters such us how to sow seeds, harvesting produce and general upkeep of our polytunnel and raised beds.
