The School and Locality

The School hours are:
Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 3.20pm
Friday - 8.45am - 1.30pm

Our school motto, ‘I am talented, together we are amazing!’ gives you a flavour of our school’s aims. At Haydonleigh, our united vision was created by our pupils, parents and staff alike. Our school is committed to working in partnership to ensure every child achieves his or her best.

Opened in 1995, Haydonleigh Primary serves the local community as a dynamic and exciting place to be! Our school is much larger than the average-sized primary, now a full three-form entry school with a capacity of 630 children, made up of 90 pupils in each year group and a total of 21 classes.

Following the housing expansion of North Swindon, a new extension was opened in 2014, offering an additional 15 classrooms, dance studio, purpose-built Early Years area and even our own theatre! Our grounds boast large playgrounds, playfields, allotment beds, a wildlife area, library bus, cycle shelters, scooter pods and fitness trails.

High expectations in learning and behaviour are maintained throughout our school. We believe that learning should be active, so our staff and governors work hard to ensure each child is offered a varied and exciting curriculum, whatever their ability. We pride ourselves on providing our children with a stimulating education. We communicate many of the fantastic things that happen at our school through our social media sites.

The school is situated in the Haydon Wick area of Swindon, close to the large northern development. It is a few miles from the M4 and the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.

Haydonleigh School is committed to safer working practices and has an open and live safeguarding culture.  Please spend some time looking at our Safeguarding Policy on our website here: Safeguarding (http://www.haydonleighschool.co.uk/parents-1/safeguarding)
