FRIDAY

Welcome to your ‘Friday Menu’!

Every Friday, you will complete a range of activities to develop your independence. These are activities you should be able to complete on your own – you can choose which ones you’d like to do!

Choose a theme you are interested in to base the tasks around – it might be a hobby, something you’ve been reading about or a topic you’ve enjoyed. Your chosen theme can be anything! For example, pirates, jungles, space, cars, the Vikings… let your imagination run wild! You might like to chat with an adult who can help you choose a theme. You may change your theme every Friday, or continue thinking about the same one for a few weeks - it’s up to you!

Then, just like in a game of bingo, try to complete a row of the tasks. It can be a row from top to bottom or left to right. You should try to remember all the things you’ve been taught in class to produce work you’re really proud of! We would rather you did less but did a really good job than tried to get lots done too quickly. You will grow more independent by taking your time and thinking carefully about your work, then rushing it.

You will have a separate book for the Friday work – your teachers know you are all working very hard at home, so Friday’s are a chance to do something independent and fun! You will need to bring your Friday book in when you return to school so that you can share all of your lovely work. You do not need to email any work to school.

Have fun!
